I am in the middle of clarifying details for the still to be applied visas. When I say in the middle, I mean I have not applied for any and am running out of time.
Apparently I need for the application of my Sudanese visa an international permit for my motorbike. Never heard of it. Just asked the driver and vehicle licensing agency in Hamburg, but they don’t know either. Oh well, will have to ask the German Automobile Club (ADAC).
Fortunately I followed the advice from Joachim von Loeben, telling me to use a visa agency in order to arrange visas. At least it is already clear that up to Turkey I need no visa, only for Syria, Libanon, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia do I need to arrange one. As of Kenya, it makes sense to apply only on entry, taking some of the deadline pressure away. It remains exciting and full of learning…

Hi Hendrik,
mit dem Sudan ist das “so eine Sache”! Besorg dir auf jeden Fall ein Visum, egal was für eins (ob mit oder ohne Mopped)……..Da die Leute im Sudan sicherlich auch nicht wissen, was eine “internationale Zulassung” ist, reicht ggf. die grüne Versicherungskarte?! Meines Wissens nach gibts auch heute eh keine “richtige” Grenze zwischen Ägypten und Sudan…..als ich mal da war haben wir abends immer gewürfelt, ob wir in Ägypten oder Sudan sind… Ggf. das Visum halt bei der ersten Polizei (kann 200 Km weg sein..) abstempeln lassen! Gutscheine für Benzin bekamen wir damals direkt in Khartoum vom Fremdenminister persönlich nach etwas Palaver, da wir nur ein Visum für “Einreise per Flugzeug” hatten…… Aber meine Tipps sind inzwischen eher “veraltet”, ich würds aber so machen!

Ich habe die Visa in Bearbeitung gegeben (www.mein-visum.de toller Service, kann ich gut empfehlen), somit wird das gaaanz offiziell sein. Für die Einreise brauche ich eh ein Carné de Passage über ADAC, Versicherungskarte eh, das macht sonst schon in der EU Probleme. Benzingutscheine wusste ich jetzt noch nicht, aber da frag ich mal meine anderen Spezies, die schon vor Ort waren. Beste Grüsse Hendrik
